Magpie Project are a Manchester band which started with Daniel Suthern in 2006 writing songs and adding them to his MySpace, in May 2008 he played his first show at Jacksons pit in Oldham.
After that Liam from The Tides got Danny a gig at The Green Room, this is when Marc Gibbs joined on Bass.
Throughout 2008 Magpie Project did various gigs and went in the studio. By October they wanted to expand the sound of the band, enter James Cunningham, a workmate of Marc's on Lead guitar.
After playing gigs throughout 2009 in venues like Night And Day cafe and Dry Bar, the band decided it was time to add a drummer to the ranks. After a very long search Daniel Pollitt-Smith (or D-B) was added to the group and Magpie Project as we all know it today was born. The new lineup made their debut at the Night And Day cafe playing half the set as the old acoustic band and D-B joining for the other half.
